Joyce is a specialist in seafood nutrition and science communications who has an independent consulting practice, ScienceVoice Consulting, in Denver, CO. She is well known for her work in seafood nutrition and omega-3 fatty acids, including 3 books and scientific articles on seafood composition, omega-3 fatty acids and type 2 diabetes, and mercury in seafood.
Nettleton is currently editor of two science-based electronic newsletters specializing in polyunsaturated fatty acids, the PUFA Newsletter for health professionals and Fats of Life for consumers. She holds a doctorate in nutrition science from the Harvard School of Public Health and a Master’s in International Nutrition from Cornell.
